Fort Logan National Cemetery is a 214-acre United States National Cemetery located in Denver, Colorado. Fort Logan was named after Union General John A. Logan. In 1868, General Logan issued General Order Number 11 establishing the last day in May as Decoration Day. In 1971 Decoration Day became Memorial Day and it is celebrated on the last Monday in May. Recently, Fort Logan acquired additional land that will accommodate the burial needs of the cemetery for several years.
